Guests on Quilting Celebrations

Kay M. Capps Cross, owner and designer of Cross Cuts designs, is known for her black and white designs. She uses the black and white patterns because it challenges her creativity and also works the best for expressing her spirit and ideas. Some followers call her the “the black and white lady,” due to her popular tree designs and patterns. According to her website, Kay’s designs range from appliqué to easy piecing to old fashioned designs with a twist. For more information on Kay’s quilt designs, visit her website at

Jessica Jones studied art at Central Michigan University. During summer break in 2001, she helped with her mother's longarm quilting business and fell in love with the art of machine quilting. She started her own longarm business in 2002 and, in a relatively short time since, has quilted over 4,000 customer quilts. Jessica quilts for clients from all over the country and many of her customers have won awards for the quilts she has masterfully quilted. Jessica, also an instructor, has shared her quilting talents and expertise with students both nationally and locally in her home area of Phoenix, Arizona. Her quilts have appeared in numerous quilting magazines and frequently grace the pages of Quilting Celebrations. You can see more of Jessica's beautiful work at

Jessica Barnett has been paper and fabric crafting since childhood.  She first started playing with fabric scraps so she could make clothes for her Barbies. Then in elementary school, she started scrapbooking in which she would tape her class photos and awards to black construction paper that she then put into binders. Jessica has been designing projects that combine fabrics, papers and other materials for major scrapbook manufacturers since 2005.  Jessica has made everything from cards to home decor projects using her sewing, quilting and paper crafting skills. In her spare time she bakes and decorates cakes, cookies and cupcakes.  She is currently on the Xyron Design Team and has appeared in  many craft videos featuring Xyron adhesives.
